Tian'anmen Square--Forbidden City--Temple of Heaven--Pearl Market

Itinerary

8:30-9:00 a.m. Beijing downtown hotel pickup

Morning

In the morning you will explore Tian'anmen Square first, The symbolical heart of China. Considered one of the world's greatest Public Squares. Located in the center of  Beijing and surrounded by many of the great monuments. Great position to start a walking tour of the area. Then you will visit the Forbidden City, The largest and best preserved cluster of ancient buildings in China. The Forbidden City was home to the Emperor's of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was completely of limits to the rest of the population.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, it is on to the Temple of Heaven. Set in 273 Hectare TiantanGongyuan. Originally functioned as a stage for the solemn Rites performed by the Son of Heaven. Built during the reign of Emperor Yongle and completed in 1420. Conceived as the prime meeting of Heaven and Earth. Common people for relaxation now. Pearl Market will be available after the park, where you can bargain and shop imitations, maybe also some beautiful pearls.

Evening (option)

Night life in Beijing is also colorful, Chaoyang Theatre Acrobatics show and Red Theatre Kungfu show are highly recommended. Inform us in advance for bookings.

Mutianyu Great Wall--Olympic Park(Bird's Nest and Water Cube)--Hutong

Morning

In the morning you will first go visit the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu section, it is about 1 to 1.5 hours drive, which is regarded one of the most beautiful section, less touristy and crowd compare to Badaling Great Wall, it is covered by more trees, this section is more older and steeper. A cable car or chair lift helps you to get on the wall quickly and easily. Enjoy your leisure at the Wall about 1 to 2 hours to feel the history and to become the "real hero"(Chairman Mao said). After the Wall, you can either have Chinese style or western style lunch nearby, such as"Subway", "School House".

Afternoon

In the afternoon, you will head to the new land mark of Beijing—the Birst's Nest and Water Cube, the Dragon Building as well nearby, you will take a look of the buildings' exterior .

Last stop will be the Hutongs, seat in a rickshaw drive through the small narrow alleys, you can also go visit a local family in Hutong to get a better understanding of the old neighbourhood .

Summer Palace -- Lama Temple -- 798 art district

Summer Palace is about 20 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing, it is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty.The park is more than four times big than Forbidden City,including more than 3,000 buildings.

Lama Temple is the most colourful temple, it is the most renowned Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet known as the yellow sect, the temple is also a former imperial palace in Qing dynasty.

The last stop of the day will be 798 art district, where you can still find the Bauhaus influnce. History and reality, industry and the arts perfectly fit here. A total construction area of 230,000 square meters assembles many cultural elements such as galleries, design studios, art exhibition spaces, artists’ studios, fashion shops, restaurants etc.
